Get your Practice's impact in a few minutes

Work through the steps below, then view your Key Impact KPIs. Everything you load or type stays on this computer.

    Step 1Practice Settings

These apply to every patient and update every figure straight away.

    Anchor month

Choose what each patient's next planned appointment is projected from.
    How this works
    • Every patient gets one "Next planned appointment" date, projected to the next future occurrence of the month (and day) of whichever anchor you pick above.
    • If a patient has no record for the chosen anchor (e.g. "Last medication review" selected but they've never had one coded), their birthday is used instead as a fallback, and the row is flagged.
    • For every review type a patient has been coded for at least once, the table shows how many months will have elapsed between that review's last coded date and the next planned appointment — this is not yet a status, just the raw duration.
    • Only reviews a patient has actually had before are listed — there's no row for a review type they've never been coded for, so the list length varies by patient.

    Allowable duration

This is defaulted to 12 months, however QOF allows for a 3 month margin (to make 15 months). GMS contract for NI makes this 24 months. Adjust the duration below to your preference.
Check the anchor month and allowable duration above, then confirm.

    Load data

One file, exported from the Practice Toolkit support search in EMIS.
    How to get your file
    1. Download the Practice Toolkit support search (.xml) from our help centre (opens in a new tab).
    2. In EMIS, go to Population Reporting and import the search (.xml).
    3. Find the ‘Impact Assessment’ search in the folder imported, ‘Run’, ‘View Results’ and edit to export as a CSV.
    4. Load the exported file below. Any questions or problems reach out and we can sharescreen to resolve - support@practicetoolkit.co.uk.

    Step 2Impact Assessment Required

Each patient's Tests & Reviews and when they were last coded. Drives every figure on Key Impact KPIs and Overdue tables.

    Step 3Current Baseline Estimates Optional

Roughly how much time goes into patient recall today? Best guesses are fine. These stay on this computer and are remembered next time you open this page here.
